About
It started in our building's group chat.
Like most buildings, ours ran on a group chat. Quotes came in by email. Tradies rang whoever picked up. Letters went back and forth with the builder, the insurer and the strata manager, and each thread lived in somebody's inbox.
The maintenance was one thing. The big push was the defects: getting the owners organised to take them on together, as one body. Spreadsheets could only take us so far. There were too many WhatsApp groups, too many email threads, and too many people to chase and keep up to date.
Nobody on a committee asks for the job. You put your hand up because someone has to, and then you're the one who has to remember. Which quote was cheaper. Who said they'd ring the plumber. What the builder said last time.
So we built something. First it was a register: every defect in one list, with its photos and where it was up to. It helped. But the register was homework. Someone had to copy things into it after the fact, and the real conversation kept happening somewhere else.
The register was homework. The conversation lived somewhere else.
That's the idea RectifyHQ is built on: the conversation itself becomes the record. When a message turns out to matter, one tap makes it an Issue. Each Issue keeps its own Chat, so the photos, the quotes and the replies stay together. Email lands in the same stream. Nothing is ever quietly deleted, and anything archived is still there when you search for it.
You sign in with a link sent to your email — no password to remember. Pricing is per lot, and every role is free.
Our building runs on it now, defects and all. The next pieces are rolling out: defects with the builder, quotes and work orders, and recurring maintenance. They'll do more of the chasing. They won't make the decisions. Nothing happens without a yes.
